Me, the Hubs & The Fight

I don't know how it is in your household, but around here, Friday's have become "Friday Fight Night".  My husband and I will do good all week...you know, stay true to our eating guidelines, to what WE believe and then....THEN Friday rolls around! And although in the last couple weekends we've done better, we could still use lots of  improvement!

Why do Fridays feel like a Free For All? Maybe 'cause the long work week is over and we just want to let loose, let  our guards down and finally do nothing but enjoy w/out working for it - you know?

The good hubs and I talked about it last night, about what exactly we're after and why we are doing what we are doing (the exercise & eating habits - low sugar).

At the end of the conversation we committed ourselves to handling this weekend like grown, mature, responsible adults instead of teenagers who, for the first time, are out on the town without any parental supervision! (I must say, acting like teenagers isn't ALWAYS a bad thing -wink,wink!).
He was insistent on carrying me over the threshold (when we bought our home).  I was 15lbs lighter - so I let him :)
I'm actually going to do better than that - yup, I'm not leaving anything up to chance.  So in the crock pot I have spareribs slowly cooking in a tangy, sweet low carb bbq sauce! (Click HERE for the original recipe - I, of course, tweaked the ingredients & will hopefully be sharing it soon).   I also picked up some asparagus.  Those will go in the oven with butter and Parmesan cheese.  AND I will be trying to turn a high carb banana cake, into a low carb one! I'm really not too good at converting recipes, but what the heck-right?

I also bought veggies that I'm going to chop up to have w/some ranch dip.

This Hispanic is Ready!

Bring it on Friday Fight Night - Bring it on!

2 Would luv to hear from you!:

Ha! That is a cute pic! Okay, so me & my husband always do this on Fridays too. Today on the way home i texted him & said, "Pizza?" & he said, "You must have read my mind!" We always get 2 mediums - it's a 5.99 special - & we each get one. Well, somehow i messed up the order & only ordered 1 medium. So we split it! HAHA! I guess someone was trying to tell us that if we're going to eat so bad we could at least watch our portions! GEEZ! LOL
